Hello AUPE members and Union Activists!

My name is Curtis Jackson, and I am seeking a 2nd term as your Vice-President of the Alberta Union of Provincial Employees. I was born in Calgary and raised in Alberta, educated as a social worker, activist and organizer. I am very aware of the way the Alberta government has historically treated workers in the past 40 years. From draconian cuts in the 1980’s and 1990’s to the devastating policies implemented during the Covid-19 pandemic, Alberta has a track record of mistreatment of the working class. I have been involved and vocal in provincial politics for over two decades. Within AUPE, I have served two terms on the Provincial Executive as the Local 006 representative, before being elected to my first vice-president term in 2023, receiving over 62% of the vote on the first ballot. Since being elected I haven't stopped, only taking my first day away for my 25th wedding anniversary in June of 2025! I have been assigned to the South Region, and have worked hard to engage and mobilize our membership. I am excited for the possibility of a second term and to welcome new challenges. Solidarity!
